"When I first saw my mom wear a pair of presbyopic glasses, as she embroidered patterns on a handkerchief, I suddenly realized my dear old woman was getting old," a woman, who listened to the program, said when she replied a question of the host of Confessions in Family Letters, which was broadcast on ximalaya, one of China's largest online audio platforms, around Spring Festival (on February 5). The program will be broadcast on ximalaya throughout the year.
The platform, the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), toutiao (one of China's largest news and information content platforms), Chinese Letters (program that debuted on China Central Television on January 5, 2018), and mgtv on the eve of the festival initiated a public-welfare activity, to encourage Chinese write family letters to their relatives, who are closest to them.
Many Chinese celebrities read, online, letters to their relatives. Numerous listeners were impressed by the writers' profound love for their families.
So far, topics related to family letters, at toutiao, have had more than 17 million hits, and more than 20,000 netizens have shared their experiences in writing family letters.
