China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the All-China Women's Federation on February 12 launched the Spring Breeze Campaign across the country. The campaign, which will last until March 15, is intended to promote China's poverty-alleviation work.

The campaign is in its 15th year. During the past 15 years, different regions of China have conducted various activities to promote the campaign. Organizers have helped numerous rural residents, including migrant workers (in large cities and towns), find work and improve their ability to protect their work-related rights and interests.

An official of the ministry told media that organizers will host job fairs in poverty-stricken rural areas, to create job opportunities for the residents. He said organizers will also conduct various activities to promote China's poverty-alleviation policies among the residents, and to encourage them to escape poverty by growing fruits and vegetables and/or breeding poultry, creating crafts, providing domestic services and developing rural tourism and e-commerce industries. The officials also said they hoped, through the activities, more natives of the areas, who have left their homes to work elsewhere, will return home and start their own businesses.

The officials also said organizers will organize various activities to help the residents improve their ability to protect their legal rights and interests in workplaces, and provide professional training to the residents, so they could escape poverty through hard work.
